What is a
Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a professional exfoliation treatment that removes dead skin cells and stimulates skin renewal using safe, skin-friendly acids. By addressing concerns such as wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars, this treatment reveals smoother, brighter, and healthier skin with improved clarity and tone.
The Science Behind Our Chemical Peels
Chemical peels work by applying a specialized acid solution to the skin. This solution penetrates the outer layer, encouraging the removal of dead skin cells and stimulating collagen production for skin renewal. Depending on the type of peel, the treatment can address surface-level concerns like texture or provide deeper resurfacing for more significant imperfections. BioRePeel is an advanced option that hydrates, revitalizes, and promotes collagen production with minimal peeling and downtime.

Before & After
Your Questions, Answered
To achieve the best results and reduce the risk of irritation, avoid sun exposure and tanning (including self-tanners) for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Stop using retinol, exfoliants, and acids like glycolic or salicylic acid 3–5 days before treatment. If you are using acne treatments or harsh skincare products, pause them to prevent sensitivity. Additionally, avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for 3–5 days unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Arrive at your appointment with clean skin, free of makeup, SPF, or lotions. Lastly, inform your provider of any medications or health conditions before your treatment.
During the procedure, your provider will cleanse your skin and apply a chemical solution tailored to your skin type and concerns. You may feel a mild tingling, warmth, or a slight stinging sensation, which typically subsides quickly. The process usually takes about 30–45 minutes, depending on the depth of the peel. After the treatment, your skin may appear slightly red or feel tight, which is normal.
After your peel, avoid touching your face for a few hours to keep the treated area clean. Do not apply makeup or skincare products other than those recommended by your provider for at least 24 hours. Avoid direct sun exposure, sweating, and heat (such as saunas or intense workouts) for 24–48 hours. Use only the post-care serum provided by your provider to support healing and collagen production. Avoid retinol, acids, and exfoliants for at least 5–7 days post-treatment, and keep your skin hydrated with a gentle moisturizer. Starting the day after your peel, protect your skin with a physical SPF (zinc or titanium-based) to prevent damage. Mild redness and tightness may occur for 1–2 days, followed by light flaking—this is part of the skin renewal process.
Peeling varies based on the depth of the treatment. A light peel may cause minimal to no visible peeling, while a medium-depth peel can result in flaking for 3–5 days. A deep peel typically involves more visible peeling, lasting up to 7–10 days. BioRePeel, however, is designed to rejuvenate the skin with little to no peeling.
Most people can safely receive a chemical peel, but the treatment may not be suitable for those with active skin infections, certain medical conditions, or extremely sensitive skin. If you are pregnant, nursing, or have a history of severe skin reactions, consult with your provider before scheduling a peel. Your provider will assess your skin and medical history to determine the best option for you.
BioRePeel requires minimal preparation and aftercare. Before treatment, avoid active ingredients like retinol and exfoliants for at least 3–5 days. Post-treatment, keep your skin hydrated and avoid exfoliating for a few days. While there is little to no downtime, it’s still important to protect your skin with SPF and follow any personalized recommendations from your provider.
